ITINERARY
Day 1 -Arrival to Cairo – Upon arrival you’ll be greeted at airport by I L T official who will assist in obtaining Egyptian visa and custom formalities. Then chauffeured driven to your hotel. Formal welcome dinner.

DAY 2– Cairo. The Pyramids. Sphinx - After breakfast you’ll join your expert private Egyptologist & driver and be taken to visit the Giza plateau, site of the Pyramids of Mycerinus and Chephren as well as the Great Pyramid. Be awe-struck as you enter the interior of one of these legendary structures and marvel at the massive stones used to construct them. After enjoying time viewing the Great Sphinx backdropped by the Pyramids, a setting that has captured the imagination for a millennium. Experience ½ hour riding on a Camel’s back. Stop for lunch before travelling to Alexandria for the rest of the day.
Continuing to Memphis, the capital of the Pharaohs during the old kingdom, there you’ll get to see the recumbent statue of Ramses 11 and the 80-ton alabaster Sphinx. Continue to Sakkara to see the prototype of the Pyramids, the Step Pyramid built for the 3rd Dynasty Pharaoh Djoser by the exalted architect Imhotep. Late evening, taken back to hotel.

DAY 3 – Cairo. Old Cairo & Ancient Treasures – This morning join your Egyptologist for an exploration of the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities which include a magnificent collection of Pharaonic pieces, more so the treasures of Tut Ankh Amun. Lunch en -route.
After lunch you’ll proceed to Old Cairo to visit the citadel of Salah El Din and the Mohammed Ali Mosque situated high above the city. Continue on to visit the Church Abu Serga, Moallaqa Church known as the “Hanging Church “and Ben Ezra Synagogue, the oldest Jewish Synagogue in Egypt.

DAY 4 – Alexandria -Pompey’s Pillar, the Catacombs of Kom el-Shoqafa – After breakfast travel to Alexandria for a day, to see the Catacombs of Kom el- Shoqafa are one of Alexandria’s most memorable monuments. A triple level funerary complex descends some 35 meters underground. Its main attraction is the central Tomb, whose vestibule is guarded by reliefs of bearded serpents with Medusa – headed shields Also be on the lookout for the triclinium, where relatives toasted the dead from stone couches. Then pass by Pompey’s Pillar. Then next stop is the library of Alexandria; the biggest library in the world – Visit its open court where you can see the Alexander the Great and the statue of Ptolemy the first which was found underwater nearby. Finally visiti Montazah Gardens.

Day 5 – Fly to Luxor – East Bank -After breakfast board a plane and fly south to Luxor, formerly known as Thebes. Upon arrival, on the East Bank visit the Temple of Karnak, featuring 134 great columns that once supported an enormous roof. Board your luxury 5 -star yacht to embark on your 5 day Nile cruise with lunch being served. In the afternoon explore the Temple of Luxor, built by Amenhotep III .and the magnificent Karnak Temple of Anun with its Hypostyle Hall. Visit the statue of Ramses II, the Obelisk of Queen Hatshepsut and the sacred lake.

Day 7 – Cruising the Nile – Edfu & Kom Ombo – After breakfast visit the Temple of Horus, known as the Falcon god of the sky, at Edfu, one of the three beautiful temples of the Ptolemaic period. This amazingly well-preserved and colorful structure reveals what temple worship in ancient Egypt was like. Then continue sailing to Kom Ombo, where you’ll visit the Sobek Temple, dedicated to the two gods, which offer beautiful murals and relief. Set sail to Aswan.

Day 8 – Cruising the Nile – Aswan – Mighty & Majestic Philae – Cruise to Aswan and proceed to the ancient granite quarries and site of the Unfinished Obelisk, this monolith is taller than any other ancient Egyptian obelisks. Board an Egyptian Felucca to picturesque Philae temple on the island of Agilika , a sacred complex dedicated to the goddess Isis. Continue sailing round Elephantine Island and the Botanical Gardens on Kitchener Island and the Agha Khan Mausoleum.

Day 9 – Abu Simbel – Temple of Ramses II & Nefertari – Bid farewell to the Nile, disembarking to fly to Abu Simbel and discover the commanding twin temples of Ramses II and his wife, Queen Nefertari. The former’s facade is dominated by four 70 – foot – tall statues of the Pharaoh. Even more impressive, this entire site was disassembled and moved here to save it from the floodwaters caused by the construction of the Aswan High Dam. Return to Cairo.
