Today, ascend Table Mountain via cable car, as you Ride Like a Local to take in an inspiring panorama of the city. Proceed to the colorful and distinctive neighborhood of Bo-Kaap for a walking tour. Formerly known as the Malay Quarter, its origins date to 1760, when rental houses were built and leased to slaves brought from Malaysia. After lunch, discover the Castle of Good Hope; built by the Dutch East India Company and completed in 1679, it is the oldest existing colonial building in South Africa. Learn its history and also view St. George's Cathedral, the Parliament building, and the Company Gardens. This afternoon, once You are settled into your elegant accommodations, set off in search of the Big Five — elephants, lions, rhinos, Cape buffalo and leopards — and other wildlife. Begin two days of immersion in your private game reserve, embarking on game drives in open safari vehicles for optimal viewing and exploring on early morning game walks with your ranger. One morning here, enjoy a bush breakfast, prepared fresh in the midst of the wilderness. This region of Africa is noted for its high density of wildlife, which often appear just steps in front of you. As you explore, learn about the flora and fauna as well as basic tracking skills. In between safari activities, participate in an ARK Chef's Table culinary experience, preparing a traditional South African dish.
